Tomorrow is Thanksgiving, which means the official start to the holiday shopping season has arrived. Not only will Black Friday be a huge shopping day, it’s immediately followed by Small Business Saturday, which is dedicated to the celebration and support of small local businesses.
If you’re out-and-about in The Galleria, Uptown, or River Oaks this weekend, we hope you’ll stop in to see us at 1731 Post Oak Boulevard. If you’re determined to make a day of it, here are a few of our favorite things to do in the neighborhood.
Where to Eat
If you’re going to have a marathon shopping session, it’s important to stay nourished and hydrated. Try one of these nearby spots:
- True Food Kitchen at 1700 Post Oak Boulevard features super-healthy vegan, vegetarian, and gluten-free options, with brunch service from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. on weekends in addition to lunch and dinner menus.
- Whole Foods is right across the street. Grab a glass of wine and peruse the aisles for stocking stuffers for your foodie friends and family.
- Masraff’s at 1753 Post Oak is the place to go for a leisurely lunch or dinner, so you can take stock of your purchases and regroup for round two.
Entertainment, Etc.
If shopping all day isn’t your thing, there are plenty of other fun things to do in the area. Make a day of it with a stop at one of these locations:
- Take in a movie at the nearby iPic Theater (4444 Westheimer) to enjoy dining and drinks tableside, or in one of their luxury recliner seats.
- Get outdoors for a hike at the Houston Arboretum and Nature Center—a restorative break between shopping sessions!
- Treat yourself to a spa service at one of several nearby spas: Mokara Spa & Salon at Hotel Omni; Sensia; Serente Spa.
