About l.a. Eyeworks
Founders Barbara McReynolds and Gai Gherardi decided to challenge the prevailing norms of eyewear and create new, provocative ways to “reveal” the human face. These high school friends did not see their vision reflected in the eyewear industry, and so decided to open a new conversation about glasses and l.a. Eyeworks was born.
Beginnings: By Hand
Each original design from McReynolds and Gherardi starts with a sketch, which kicks off a journey that includes selecting materials, creating bold new shapes, choosing an exciting color story, and meticulous production practices which bring each design to life.
